One Hundred Percent (100%) of the profits derived from this book will be given to charities which support and help children who live in difficult situations. Below are the two charities we are supporting.
CASA®(Court Appointed Special Advocates)
My wife and I are CASA volunteers with the Douglas County CASA. Court Appointed Special Advocates® (CASA) advocate for children’s best interest. This can make a life-changing difference for children and youth who have experienced abuse or neglect, many of whom are in foster care.
Inside and outside of the courtroom, volunteers work help ensure that the voice of these children is heard, and that the children experience the safety, security, and opportunities they need to thrive.
The organization also works to support the children they serve in a variety of ways. This includes working with the courts to ensure the child’s safety, providing families with resources they need to access help, and connecting them to organizations that can provide additional assistance. CASA also works to ensure that the child has access to quality health care, mental health services, and educational opportunities.
Zoe Empowers
Zoe Empowers. Zoe Empowers started as an African solution to the African orphan problem. Working in Africa and India, they empower orphaned children to overcome life threatening poverty, move beyond charity and experience meaningful lives. All this is accomplished through a three-year empowerment program, supported by the local community and in which youth are gathered into mutual help empowerment groups of approximately 25 families in each group.
Not only do 95%+ of these orphaned and vulnerable young people graduate fully self-sufficient, but the groups continue meeting and working together for many years past graduation. Since 2007, over 170,000 orphaned and vulnerable youth have moved from life-threatening poverty to sustainable self-sufficiency, while wrapped in layers of community and knowing they are not beyond the love of others and God. Internal and independent research shows that the transformation accomplished during the three years of Zoe’s program continues many years after graduation.
